A patio is where most of a garden's time is spent — seating, dining, entertaining and somewhere dry to stand in a wet Liverpool spring. Size, position and orientation are worked out around how you want to use the space, then set out with proper falls so water runs away and the surface stays clean.
Paths give a garden its structure: they connect the areas you use, keep feet off wet lawn and make side access, bin stores and garden buildings easier to reach. Widths, edges and materials are chosen so the routes look intentional rather than added later.
A driveway takes the heaviest wear on a property, so the preparation underneath matters as much as the surface on top. Driveway work is built up from a solid, well-drained base, edged properly, and treated as part of the front of the property rather than a separate job.
Paving rarely needs to be a standalone job. It can be incorporated with fencing, planting, artificial grass, decking, brickwork and garden features so the whole garden is finished at once and everything lines up as it should.
